Sept 21: Let's Review

It is always normal for string students to return to school forgetting some or most of what they learned last year. Because of this, the very first Orchestra rehearsal can be very frustrating. I think this was the case on Wednesday.

We are starting off with something relatively easy---Yankee Doodle. The 4th graders can play the B part, which is mostly open D and A strings. The fifth graders can try the more challenging A part. Since it is a familiar piece, it won't be as difficult to learn.

HOMEWORK:
4th Grade: Work on G string notes on Page 26 in the book and play Yankee Doodle

5th Grade: Write in the melody notes for Yankee Doodle. Review C string notes for cello and viola and E string notes for violins.
