This week, we will be working on "Can-Can" by the French composer Jacques Offenbach. This version includes the introduction, which most of the students do not know. The melody that they know does not start until measure 25. If you get a chance, listen to the full melody with your children at http://members.lycos.nl/catchytune/cancan.midFourth graders should continue to work on G string notes on page 26 in the book. They will be having a quiz on the first exercise on page 27 next week.
Fifth graders should be focusing on page 36, which introduces the C string to violas and cellos, and reviews notes for violins.
