End of year announcements

It has been a very successful year for the Royle String Program! I have enjoyed working with all of the strings students this year.

Here are some important end-of-year announcements:
  • This week, children will be doing instrument clean-up in their lessons.  Instruments will need to be re-rented or returned at the lesson.  Please discuss with your child whether they would like to keep the instrument for the summer or not so they are able to tell me at this week’s final lesson.
  • A summer rental contract is available here: www.darienps.org/teachers/jminnis/2015STRADSUMMERRENTALCONTRACT.pdf
  •  If your child plans to continue playing his or her string instrument next year, I would encourage you to continue the rental over the summer.  I will be putting fun tunes up the blog throughout the summer for children to try out.  It will also help them be ready for the first Royle Orchestra rehearsal in September.
  • The Darien Summer String Camp at DHS is a fun option to help children continue playing.  Students can gain as much as one full school year in just 4 weeks!  Or, I can provide you with a list of high school and college-aged teachers who are available for lessons during the summer.

This string program is for students who have had at least one year of in-school lessons.
Players will participate in a daily orchestra rehearsal to prepare for weekly, themed concerts.
Join us for a summer of fun music making!
